I know I've been neglecting this blog but it's only because of my school work. I'll begin posting again once school slows down. Hello Kitty Themed Restaurant

Aloha readers,

Have you ever found yourself looking for a place to dine that is the apidimi of everything Hello Kitty...well I've found the place for you!

Makitti is a fun and cute Hello Kitty themed restaurant that features everything anyone could want. Adults get the opportunity to buffet the largest variety of Japanese foods while the kids get to chow down on the smallest but cutest desserts featured in HK cuisine.

I got the opportunity to try this place out last year and loved my experience. The food was great but the dessert was better. It's something that everyone needs to try at least once in their lives while in Hawaii especially in Waikiki!

YTF O'ahu Concert 2011 Review

So I've been waiting weeks to go to the first YTF concert EVER, especially since it was in Hawaii nei of course! And I must say it was worth the wait. The concert was amazing and well worth the $80 price tag for VIP status. Each performers put on a fabulous show that was not only entertaining but also hilarious.

Chester See
Before the concert I did some research on this guy. Previously I had heard of him from the 'Nice Guys' song and Wong Fu Productions films but this kid shocked me last night. Although he was previously that kid that hosted Disney 365 on Disney Channel, he's got real talent in music and comedic timing. Chester was the first performer and sang on the piano perfectly for about 5 songs. He also made a few jokes in between each song to lighten up the mood including how much he adored Victor Kim's Butt.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Victor as a singer before entering the venue BUT I have to admit he's got a good voice. I was kind of sad to see that he didn't dance as much as I thought he would but nonetheless he still put on a great set filled with the Spam song, a cover of Bob Marley song, plus other songs including a song he wrote and sang to a girl in the audience. Which was so sweet...I was so jelly of that girl!

Andrew Garcia
Wowzers. This guy. Wow. I didn't watch him on American Idol but I kinda wish I had now. I was amazed by his voice and that he could make EVERY SINGLE person in the theater quiet with his singing...he was that good. Most of the songs he performed were covers of Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Maroon 5, etc. but his renditions of covers were so unique it was crazy. Speaking of crazy, he sang that song and it blew me away. He also made tons of jokes throughout his set plus his turtle face.

D-Trix
I met this guy last year while he was in Hawaii for World of Dance. He was so sweet back then and still sweet today. I'm glad I got to see him perform all his dance moves to songs by Beyonce, Justin Bieber, etc.  Plus he actually did a dance duet with one of the guy dancers from the 24/7 dance force! So great to see him dance with young talent.

Okay, this guy had the best set of the night. Hands down blew me away with every song which included the usual "handle with care", "by chance", and he even covered Lil' Wayne's "how to love". But the part that broke me down and made me cry my eyes out was when he sang "save this". He explained that the song was especially hard at this moment because he was going through a recent and tough breakup that happens when a relationship is one sided. He then proceeded to sing awesomely until the last chorus when he started choking up and could barely finish the song. It broke my heart to see him tearing up and turning around to hide his pain that everyone could obviously see while sitting there. Afterwards he sang the rest of his set perfectly.

*Although at the meet and greet afterwards, I told him that while singing that song he made me cry. He apologized and without hesitation stood up and gave me the biggest hug and told me that "everything will be alright" * :)

Hosts Ryan Higa and Kevin Wu
These two are my favorite Youtubers and was so stoked to finally meet Kevin (because I already met Ryan last year at World of Dance too!). They did there usual routines of the BEST crew act in the middle of the show and Nice Guys at the end. Wish I could of seen more of them in between each performing act but hey I'll take what I got cause the show was great and every minute was entertaining.

My only con to the concert was that the venue didn't allow the audience to record video and only take pictures. ARE YOU SERIOUS? This is a concert about the famous faces behind Youtube...How are you gonna not allow us to record videos? Anyways my seat was dead center in the middle of the row so they couldn't stop me!

If you get the opportunity to see this show when they come to your town...do it. The variety in entertainment that the shows offers is worth the money. Mahalo for an awesome night boys.

Hibiscus Cupcakes...

This is the apidimi of Aloha spirit in food in Hawaii.

I have to say that I adore finding cute and fun Hawaiian decorated desserts.

Gotta love this hibiscus decorated cupcakes from a local bakery.

It was so pretty that I didn't want to eat it! It was extremely ono too!

Chinatown find...

Aloha!

I found this lovely owl necklace charm at a local jewelry shop located in Chinatown on O'ahu.

I purchased this after being heavily frustrated that I couldn't find a cute owl necklace, so I decided to make my own!

I wish I remembered the name of the shop I brought this from but unfortunately I don't. So the next time I go there I'll do a updated post about the location!

We all know this was bound to happen...I would spend a ridiculous amount of money on a purse, and then I'd want to buy this silly luggage tag. However you have to admit how adorable this one of kind hot stamping tag is.

The tag was actually a lovely gift from my mom as a present for working my ass off this past summer while taking on 3 summer school classes and interning at a awesome non-profit organization AND participating in a intern program. I had a fun but harding working filled summer, and it was a sweet gift...This is definitely something I'll treasure. 

If you're considering getting something small and unique while on your visit to Hawaii, you must stop by the Louis Vuitton store located in Waikiki (go to this location because the others are atrocious). For $50, you can get a cute luggage tag souvenir that looks extra adorable on any bag...Louis Vuitton or not :)

Temptation...

Aloha visitors!

One recent find in the Hawaiian islands was this lovely body mist from Victoria Secret. I'm not sure if they sell this product in the mainland states but I know they sell in the Hawaii VS stores and it smells amazing!

The scent is called "tropical and fruity" and definitely describes the scent. It smells like fruit and flowers without a overbearing scent and comes in an adorable 2.5 fl. oz bottle.

If you're visiting the islands it's a must have souvenir for your friends and family back home that want a piece of your island experience

I just realized that I forgot to mention that I would also be discussing my all time favorite thing in the world in this blog as well.... and thats FOOD!

So for todays blog post I wanna give a special shout out to my all time favorite manapua shop located in the heart of chinatown on Oahu.

Of all of the manapua shops located on this island, and there is plenty, Char Hung Sut has got to have the BEST manapuas around. With their soft bun and perfectly cooked meat in the middle, it's a must have when in chinatown! Although my mom says that she prefers their mai tai soo and pork hash over their manapuas anyday.

My personal recommendation: If you do plan to stop by this quaint establishment, GO EARLY because they are so popular that they usually run out of manapuas by 12 pm. I wish I could say that I was kidding but I'm not. I can't count the number of times I went there to see them turning customers away because they were sold out for the day.

It's the start of something new...

Aloha all!

I originally began this blog as a means to avoid studying...BUT I definitely plan to use this blog to show readers cool things Hawaii has to offer. Plus share some aspects of my life including POTD (Purse of the day), Vlogs, nail polish designs, and anything I wanna vent about.
